Does my rental include insurance?

Insurance is not included in the rental. Once the rental bag leaves the Rent That Bag showroom, you are fully liable for the item

What if the bag is damaged whilst in my possession?

The bag should be returned in the same condition that you received it with a reasonable amount of wear. If the returned bag has damage that is outside of normal wear (eg: water damage, ink stains, makeup stains, tears, scratches, other stains that cannot be removed etc.), you will be liable for the full retail cost of the bag.

What happens if I return my item late?

Rental items must be returned by the due date specified upon rental. Late returns will incur a late fee of $25 per day minimum. If an item is not returned within 5 days of the due date, Rent That Bag may charge your credit card for the full retail price of the item.

What do I do if I’d like to keep my rental for an additional time?

We’d be thrilled for you to be able to keep renting a bag that you love! If you would like to extend your rental, please contact us at info@rentthatbag.com. If the bag is not scheduled to be rented by someone else, we will make the necessary arrangements to extend your rental.

Does sales tax apply to my rental?

Sales tax of 8.25% applies to all rentals (and purchases) according to Texas law.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We only accept credit or debit card payments through the website.

Kindly note that we do not accept pre-paid cards.

Are there any charges for cancelling my rental?

There are no charges for cancelling your rental if you do so before the date that you are picking up the rental item.

Kindly note that you cannot cancel your rental once you have collected it or during the agreed rental period and no refund will be given, even if you return the item early.

Can I sell my designer handbags to you?

We are always looking to add to our collection! Kindly note that all bags should be in excellent condition and where possible, dust bags, boxes, receipts should be included.

Bags are authenticated and fully inspected by Rent That Bag which takes up to 48 hours before a final decision is made as to whether we will purchase the bag from you.

We will give you a receipt for your bag and notify you within 48 hours whether we will purchase the bag from you.

Payment for any bag that we buy will be made via check.

We do not purchase fake or replica bags.

Do you ship / mail items?

We do not ship items. If you rent or purchase an item, you will need to arrange an appointment to pick up your item.

Can I return a rental bag halfway through the rental term?

Details of rental times are noted on each bag. If you return the rental item before the rental term is up, a refund will not be issued.

How long is a rental term?

Rental times vary for each bag, either 3 days, 1 week, 2 weeks or monthly. Please view the options available for each bag.

Can I buy the bag that I am renting?

We know how easy it is to fall in love with a bag, however, the bags for rental may not be purchased. We have other bags that you can purchase in our “For Sale” section. We can also notify you if the bag you love is ever coming up for sale. You can express your interest by sending an email to info@rentthatbag.com.

How many bags can I rent at the same time?

You can rent 1 handbag at a time. 

Are these bags fake?

These bags are 100% authentic. We have a specialist who authenticates every bag.

How should I clean the bag?

We provide care and cleaning instructions with each rental.

Handbag liners are available from Rent That Bag for most bags which will help to keep the bag clean – this is optional, so you need to request one when you pick up your rental. There is no additional cost for using these liners. Liners should be returned when you return your rental.

How do I return an item after rental?

At the time of renting, a return date will be agreed upon. Please contact us at info@rentthatbag.com to arrange a time on your specified return date.

Can I change the rental item if I don’t like it?

We want you to enjoy your rental, however, we cannot change your rental bag during your rental period.

Are rental items new?

Most of the bags are new. All bags are in excellent condition.

Are sale items new?

Most sale items are gently used although we have some new items. Details for each item are available in the item description. We disclose details of all faults or damage to items that we are selling.

How many items can I buy at one time?

You can buy as many items as you like.

How soon can I pick up my rental bag once I've completed my rental transaction?

You can pick up your rental the day after you complete your rental transaction.

Can I send someone else to pick up the bag on my behalf?

We can only release the bag to the person on the rental agreement.

ID will be required at time of pickup.

What is your return policy?

Rentals:

Rentals must be returned in the condition in which you received them, allowing for normal wear.

Rentals must be returned by the due date specified upon rental; late returns will incur a late fee of $25 per day minimum.

If an item is returned with excessive wear and tear or damage or if an item is not returned within 5 days of the due date, Rent That Bag may charge your credit card for the full retail price of the item.

Recurring cases of excessive wear or damage may result in the suspension or termination of your account.

In the event of theft or loss of a rental item, you will be charged for the full retail price of that item.

Rent That Bag reserves the right to refuse to rent an item. 

Purchases:

You may return your item within 5 days of purchase for a full refund. The item must be returned without any signs of wear (i.e. the same condition you purchased it in).

Final sales are non-returnable and non-refundable. 

Do you rent to people outside of San Antonio?

We only rent to people within the San Antonio area. We do not ship or mail bags. All rentals need to be collected at our showroom in San Antonio, Texas.
